Given the current state of the pandemic, wearing a face mask is a way for all of us to reduce the risks to each other. But is there any safe and sustainable alternative to disposable masks?
When it comes to masks, a good sustainable first approach could be choosing reusable masks rather than buying disposable ones. After some research, we’ve found a good sustainable alternative! A face mask you can make yourself without any sewing required & can be done within 2 minutes!
We’ve found a great video that clearly shows you the steps (created by Tessa Tran via her Instagram account @tessa_tran) & she was lovely enough to allow us to share it with you.
All you need are A bandana or scarf + 2 hair elastic bands – that’s it!
The result is a great fitting mask that you can wash and reuse and also if you wanted to add an extra layer for more protection, you can add on or two paper towel into the bandana face mask.
Don’t already own a cotton bandana? We have vintage cotton bandana’s available online in various colours that you can use to get started on making your own bandana face mask.
